The Platinum Jubilee – Thame Celebrates 70 years

A Royal Exhibition : 7th May – 11th June

In celebration of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, we are delighted to announce a very special exhibition.

Ascending to the throne in 1952 Elizabeth II is our longest reigning monarch and has seen Silver, Gold, Diamond and now Platinum Jubilees.

Thame has played its own small part in the country’s celebration of her life.

Enjoy a trip down a 70 year memory lane – with photos and memorabilia of this remarkable achievement as seen through Thame’s eyes.

See the museum’s own collection of royal china plus personal memorabilia and recollections, with a special display of  memories & reminiscences along with artifacts on loan from their members by the Thame & District U3A.

Join in the fun and be part of the exhibitionWe would love to include any photos you have of any of the jubilees on our Photo-Wall.

Either send copies (Jpeg/Pdf/Png) to collections@thamemusem.org or bring them in person to the museum during our opening times (NB – If you do bring photos in person and would like them returned then please make sure you have your name and telephone number on the reverse otherwise we’ll include them in the Museum’s archive).

Also – we’d love to know what you’re planning to do to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee so we can refer to it in the exhibition and on the web site – So if you’re hosting a street or garden party or even a black-tie dinner and dance do send details to collections@thamemusem.org and we’ll make sure you get a mention. Join the fun!

We offer our congratulations to the Her Majesty, The Queen on her achievement of this milestone and wish her a happy and memorable day.
