Have you ever wondered what happens to an object after it has been donated to the Museum?
The first step is to give it a unique reference number and log it in our Collections database, Modes.
If we are unable to put it immediately on display, we find a place to store it, safely and securely.
We also have a small team of Object Researchers, who delve into the history and provenance the objects on display. Sometimes they dig up new stories about some of these objects which help to engage the visitor’s imagination.
